BMW 5 Series: General information
Music tracks, audio books, and podcasts can be played back. Sound is played back through the vehicle loudspeakers.
Settings are stored for the driver profile currently used.
Depending on the vehicle equipment, the following audio sources can be used:

CD/DVD player
Warning
The CD/DVD players are officially designated Class 1 laser products. Lasers can damage the retina of the eye. There is a risk of injury. Do not use the CD/DVD player if the cover is damaged.
CDs and DVDs
NOTICE
With use of non-compatible CD sizes, the CD can get jammed and it may not be possible to pull it out again. Adhesive labels applied after the fact can loosen during playback. There is a risk of damage to property.
- Do not use any CDs with adhesive labels applied after the fact.
- Only use round CDs with a standard diameter of 4.7 in/12 cm and do not play back any CDs with adapters, for instance single CDs.
- Do not use any combined CD/DVDs, for instance DVD Plus.

Inserting CD
Insert the CD into the CD slot with the printed side up.
Removing the CD

The CD is partially ejected.

Display album information
A database with album information is stored in the vehicle. Depending on the information entered in this database for the played back audio CD, album name, artist, track names, and the album cover are displayed.

Tracks from CDs and USB storage devices can
be stored on the music hard disk in the vehicle
and played from there.
